1. I have just bought a14000 Magnavox portable air conditioner. When the compressor comes on it sounds like paper flapping in the back. It does not make this sound when only the fan is blowing. If I remove the hose the flapping sound stops. There is nothing in the hose or obstructing the hose. Any suggestions? The manual says it is normal to hear a gurgling sound but it sounds like thin paper.

I have a problem with my AC compressor. The compressor runs at slower speeds and the fan does not blow. Instead, the compressor makes an annoying sound. It makes a vibrating sound just like the fan does when it is not blowing. The fan runs at the same speed as it should when the compressor is not blowing. The noise and vibration only happen when the compressor is at lower speeds. I only notice it when it is really cold and the AC is not working well.
